I donated all of my winter gears when I was in Angola , since I carried them all the way from US but I seldom use them, it spared a lot of space and a big relief for me not carrying the extra stuff, but what i didn’t expect is that Namibia is extremely COLD at night, it’s during the winter time and the temperature drops to below zero at night.
I joined a Chinese church when I was in Windhoek, a sister told me one of her witnesses, she usually do morning worship at 5 am and it was really cold that she didn’t have any warm stuff, then she talked to God, My lord, how can I worship you better in such a cold morning ?
She didn’t tell anyone about this ,but the next morning, the sisters from the church sent her two wool sweater !
She gave it to me even i didn’t plan to carry it at the beginning since it took too much space, but i eventually put it in my pannier after thought it twice, now I couldn’t be more thankful for ” Jesus Sweater”, i couldn’t have frozen to death without it.
[ Matthew 6:31]31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
<can i help you ?>
Namibia is thinly populated, sometimes you dont see any village per 100 kms or more, yesterday i was biking pretty hard but it was still 20 kms away from the next town at 6 pm, i didnt feel like riding in the dark besides i was tired, so my option was to camp by the road or in the bushes, but neither of them is that safe . I was not that worry even in that situation but to talk to lord, my heavenly father, where are you going to lead me tonight ?
Just by then,a truck came from the opposite direction and it pulls over, they flashed the light and the driver waved at me, a white couple with their son was sitting inside, without greeting or anything,
but just asked me directly “Excuse me, can i give you a lift ? I have a hotel in the town, you can have a nice sleep tonight ” .
Thats all, without asking me where am i from, where am i going, but just offer the help, besides, they were going to the opposite way.
“But ﹉”i was going to say its fine, i want to bike there, but the words came from my mouth was a honestly “ok”.
They offered me a nice room with good hot shower.
For more than a year on the road, i camped most of the times, the village, the desolated area, the desert, the stranger’s house, but i never had any bad experience for camping, not at once !
I feel grateful for those kindly help, but i also believe that my luck is not just by chance.
[Psalms ]Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
