Amazing Big Bend

Big Bend National Park is a U.S. national park located in Southern Texas, bordering Mexico. It has national significance as the largest protected area of Chihuahuan Desert topography and ecology in the United States. I ran into a guy who was going to Big Bend when I was in Marathon, i actually never heard Big Bend before but I know there are a bunch of people coming here for their vacations, he said he comes here every year but always gets the different views since it’s just a big and amazing place for hiker, it combines desert, river and mountains together. What he said intrigued me a lot and I’m such an adventurous person so I decided to go with him.

It was still 78 miles from Marathon to Big Bend, so I left my bike in town and took the ride with him.

The scenary along the way

We set up the tent and hammock right after we got the camping spot, it was almost full on weekends. The hammock was so fun!

Hot Springs, which is also the border between US and Mexico, we swam to the river stayed there for a while then found it was too cold in Mexico so we swam back to US,lol

More people joined us at midnight, they brought beer and snacks so we had a party in hot springs which was really cool! But the cops came and check to see if anyone is trying to cross over to Mexico, we said we would rather staying in hot springs of US,so no worries.lol

The next morning we started our bear hunting, the sign of bear country everywhere

The window view of Chisos Mountains Basin

Prickly pear cactus
Lost Mine Trial

I didn’t get any luck to run into a bear or lion, but the scenary really impressed me and inspired me to have more adventures like this
Big Bend!
